Excellent running saw. Kit mixed the 038 crankcase with 380 gas tank/handle unit, which was problematic with the bar oil cap and chain tensioner provided. Once I figured that out and got the right parts, all was good. Powerful saw, can stand toe to toe with oem and a blast to assemble! If you like tinkering and a looking for fun challenge this may be for you. If your just looking to slap something together, pull the stater cord and go.... you maybe should buy oem

Nice kits at a good value. The components are well made and went together with minimal fitting. Crank and cases were not as tight as other kits so they went together easily. I like the original design of the 038. Well worth the monye if your in to this kinda of jigsaw puzzle saw thing.

These kits are amazing. This may be the finest one yet, of course I will say that about the next likely as well! Honestly, the part quality is equal to oem. Their attention to detail is unmatched. The parts are well protected during shipment so you get a saw you can start to put together and when you finish you will be very proud of what you have done. Should you run into an issue they have customer service people watching their messaging system on this website, to help you, should you need it. I am a fan I have built several of the kits and hope to build more. I mention in the video a part that was picked wrong, they have already corrected it, very responsive company. There is something to it, when you finish, that feeling, hearing that motor start the first time, seeing those wood chips fly and you built it. I am starting to hear of guys selling their OEM saw so that can have the same experience. I look at it as my hobby and the time I have taken is to share my experience with others so they can enjoy it with me. I have said from the first Why not FarmerTec?
